Exclusive Interview with Robin Donahue
I am very pleased to be working for Vintage Wrestling. I am extremely excited to be granted the first ever interview with the manager of the Stimulus Sam Shaw, Robin Donahue. This is how it all came to pass as well as the actual interview. It all started with a phone call while sitting around the pool at my condo.
I picked up the phone and answered hello. A lovely voice responded by saying that her name was Fifi and she was the secretary of Robin Donahue. She told me that Mr. Donahue requested me to come down to his office. He was anxious to talk to me about his title match at Marrcade between The Stimulus Sam Shaw and the Chocolate Rocket Thomas Marr. I gave no hesitation and accepted a meeting with Mr. Donahue at his office tomorrow afternoon at 1PM.
I made it to the highrise luxury office building with 20 minutes to spare. I boarded the elevator and rode it up to the penthouse office of the former lawyer. I disembarked and turned left to see the double doors that had Robin Donahue on a golden placard. I opened the door and there sat the most beautiful young lady.. I walked up to her and asked that if I may see Mr. Donahue. I was slated for a 1PM appointment. She reached over and pressed the button of her intercom box and informed him that Marcus Pitts was here to see him. He answered in his gruff voice to let me enter.
I entered his office and it was bigger than my whole condo I live in. The office overlooked the city of Orlando and I have to say it was a panoramic view that was totally breathtaking. On the walls behind the former attorney hung some Rembrandt pictures that I remembered from my art appreciation class back in high school. Donahue asked me to sit down and thus we began the interview.
The Interview
Marcus Pitts: I would like to thank you for inviting me here to do this interview. I am especially honored to be the very first interviewer since you have gotten into wrestling..
Robin Donahue You should be greatful.
MP: Why did you quit a lucrative position with a successful law firm and go into pro wrestling as a manager?
RD While I was a very successful attorney, I decided to take my practice into the wrestling field. I had noticed that there was something missing in professional wrestling: intelligence. It was a no brainer for me to make the move, and quite frankly, it has been VERY lucrative for me and Fifi.
MP You were very successful with Thomas Marr when he became the SCW Heavyweight Champion. How would you describe this time managing “The Chocolate Rocket”?
RD He was very demanding, but paid very well. It was shortly after joining him and his Elite party that questions about his health started to arise. It became my job to handle the health situation more so than to handle the legal and financial aspect of his career.
MP At this same time, you also managed Sam Shaw under the name of Slick Sleazy. They both had extremely big egos. Did you have any inner conflicts between these two superstars?
RD Not once. At the time, The Elite party was formed to protect Mr. Marr and his SCW title. Everyone had their role in the group, including me. We have a lot of good stories together, but all good things must come to an end.
MP Thomas Marr defeated Slyk Wagner Brown in a very tough Ironman Match at the last SCW show ever. What happened that made you switch allegiance to Shaw instead of keeping with Thomas Marr?
RD Tommy’s health was the issue. Tommy became very ill and his doctors forbidden him to continue to compete. Once he became no use to me, I dropped him like a bad habit. You see, if you can’t wrestle, you are a waste of my time. Tommy knew the deal, he knew he had become no use to me anymore.
MP Sam Shaw became the first ever Vintage Heavyweight Champion. What do you contribute to his success over so many very tough opponents?
RD He has proven to be the top wrestler in this state and with talent like that and my guidance, we knew that he would be unbeatable.
MP Now Thomas Marr has demanded a championship match with your client at MARRCADE on February 20th at the Sanford Salvation Army Gymnasium. Marr is willing to put it all on the line and wager his career to have the chance of winning the gold that Shaw is currently wearing. What are your thoughts since you have managed both men and quite successfully I may add?
RD Mr. Marr is a fool. He has been instructed to stay clear of the ring, but his ego won’t allow him too. It has been real cute watching him get protected by the Vintage office over the last couple of months. The problem is, now he thinks he can waltz right into a match with the Stimulus and come out on the other side. Well not only will his health be pushed to the limit, but this will be the last time you Thomas Marr wrestle. Tommy doesn’t realize that this is not 2008 anymore and wrestling has passed him by. Mark my words, one Bailout Super kick and Tommy will be finished. Maybe it’s for the best. Maybe after February 20th, Tommy can start concentrating on his health and less on what is going on in wrestling.
MP In your opinion, what edge does Shaw have over Marr to accept such a match as this?
RD Edge? He is the by far favorite. Shaw is the better wrestler. He is younger, faster, and more gifted. Oh by the way… he has me.
MP Any last words for Thomas Marr going into MARRCADE?
RD Yes, let me know how this retirement thing works out for you kid. Now get out of my office, my 2:00 appointment will be here shortly. Please tell Fifi that I need to see her before you leave. ( no goodbye )
AS I was driving home, I wondered if Marr was being foolhardy or does he have a plan to take gold. I imagine that all the questions of Championship Match will be answered on Saturday February 20th at the Sanford Salvation Army. I know I will be watching to see who will be the victor of these two major Vinatge Superstars.
