The year is winding done and the weather is getting cooler. I thought that this year for a BY THE Mark, I would list the best and worst on the Florida scene. The ranking are not just limited to individuals but can be a group of people too

The worst will be considered the Assholes of 2009. These six entities caused the most talk on the boards as well as the dislike from many of the fans. I will rank them from number five and the last on the list will be the number one asshole in wrestling this year in my opinion.

5. ( TIE ) Florida Championship Wrestling Office
Jo Bob's in Zephyrhills
FCW has been a disappointment considering the talent that Florida has to offer and the practice of hiring favorite sons instead of the better candidate.

Jo Bob's was an abomination for a venue and was the main reason for the demise of PWe. The ring that they used could have injured someone fatally and his practices were suspect at the very best.

4. Blair Russell
I consider him a friend but many consider his criticism very nonconstructive and negative. I used to call him the first legit fan heel in wrestling. I cant even count the number of people he has upset over the years but he does have a gift and he is a very good writer.

3. Mister Saint Laurant
Controversy always surrounds MSL and most of the time he caused it himself. His rant on Florida Wrestling Radio created much hostility aimed at himself. Frankie Capone is willing to kick his ass for the boys at WrestleBrawl in Sanford on January 16th for Vintage Wrestling.

2. Afa and WXW
I believe in respecting vets in this sport. They have paved the way for all the guys that are out there now. Afa and WXW had a class act going in the Leesburg and Minneola area. I liked what he was installing in the up and coming workers in wrestling.

When he became exclusive with his champions, it caused many of waves to ripple in the Florida wrestling scene. This made the bookers job with other promotions impossible to schedule WXW workers. They win the title and they become an instant no show for other promotions.

This is a time when promotions should somewhat work together and TRY to reestablish wrestling as a great medium of entertainment. His motives were selfish and many called him out. Sorry Afa and I do respect you but that was an asshole move and takes you to number two.

THE NUMBER ONE ASSHOLE OF 2009 GOES TO.......

1. Frank Goodman
Goodman has such a bad track record that it surprises me that veterans fall for the same act over an dover again. Frank is a user and his ONLY motives are to line his pockets with green whenever he can. This shyster should stop trying to promote wrestling shows because of his practices of booking names and NOT paying the talent but making them work as road crew instead. Half the time he sill doesn't come through with the names.

I think this time you pissed off more people than you know what to do with and maybe this will be the end to the infamous legacy of Frank Goodman. Like a case of bad heartburn, I have a feeling he will come back up again. This is why YOU are the number one asshole of 2009!!

These entities are the ones that did deeds and actions to make improve or just promote wrestling. I am more than happy to list these names. Again we will start with number 5.

5. Neil
If I were to look up wrestling fan in Webster's dictionary, more than likely you will find Neils picture. I have never met a more enthusiastic, supportive, and dedicated fan. If you are to have a wrestling show, one stands a good chance of seeing Neil.

He also cares about the worker and appreciates the jobs that they do. Neil has to be ranked becaus without him and others, wrestlers would not be practicing their trade.

4. Snowman
Here is another super fan that goes all out for the wrestlers and the promotions. He is able to use his talents and helps promote the sport and its worker with his videos and the website. Thank you Snowman for all the work you do and I know for a fact that that the workers and promoters appreciate you.

3. TNA Wrestling
I bet this maybe a surprise to hear from me. I am not a fan of the product by no means. I do like the fact that that they use Florida talent from time to time unlike FCW and WWE. Just maybe Hogan coming aboard and some decent plots will help them become competition for WWE and more Florida talent will get their chance at the limelight.

2. Vintage Wrestling
I know I am a homey for Vintage but everyone has to admit that in a years time, Vintage has made a lot of strides and is one of the better promotion in the state of Florida at this time. Sean Solo and Billy Wood have done an excellent job of recruiting much of the better talent while mixing them with up and coming workers.

I would be lying if I told you that I seen this coming. Vintage should be very proud of its accomplishments. I think that Vintage Wrestling has a very good future as long as they keep moving along and keeping it fresh.

The Number One Good Guy in wrestling this year is.....

1. Pro Wrestling Riot

I have not been to the Petterson Memorial Cup but someday I would love to attend. They do what wrestling was intended to do in an old school manner. The Petterson Cup has a way of bringing together the Florida Wrestling community. I commend them for preserving the memory of one of wrestlings true warriors. This is why I think PWR is the number one good guy in wrestling for 2009.
