YESTERDAY

Southern Championship Wrestling had a glorious reign in the state of Florida. Chris Carson was the guiding force behind the success of this wrestling promotion. Everyone from A-Z had wrestled for this premier promotion at one time or another. Slyk Wagenr Brown, Atlas, Frankie Capone, Thomas Marr, Aaron Epic, Jason Hexx, Ryze, Jason Sensation, and Victor Creed all wrestled for this company and had a good run of success. The Mighty Ox was the amiable master of ceremonies and Michael Cade aka Bryon Kelly did lend his hand to make SCW a very successful promotion for ten glorious years.

The one thing that was different was the feeling of being a Family amongst everyone connected with SCW from the wrestlers, security, and the fans. It was like having Thanksgiving once every month where we would meet as one. Everyone involved with SCW knew each other by name and would hug and greet each other and anticipate another great show conducted by Carson and the SCW brass. We would leave the venue, head to the after party and laugh and congratulate each other for a job well done. We all went home satisfied and knowing that we can look forward to another show real soon.

TODAY

All good things must come to an end. After ten years Southern Championship Wrestling ended their streak as the longest running promotion in the state of Florida. SCW had their last show in November of 2008 and it was a show to remember. After Thomas Marr retained the title gainst Slyk Wagner Brown, everyone entered the ring and celebrated a fine job once more. SCW closed its doors at the Eastmonte Civic Center for the last time.

Other promotions started up after the end of SCW. I Believe in Wrestling started running shows in Orlando before SCW closed its doors. Pro Wrestling Eklpise started their brief run in Zephyrhills. WXW is running very successful shows in Leesburg and Minneola ran by Afa of the Wild Samoans. Vintage Wrestling started to pick up where SCW left off. They have been a successful promotion that has mixed some SCW stars with some up and coming talent from Central Florida. Sean Solo and Billy Wood have been the masterminds to this promotion and the fans have taken to them. Vintage has wrestled to very enthusiastic crowds in the Sanford Salvation Army gymnasium and has become a mainstay in Central Florida. Three distinctly different promotions that are very good quality shows serving this area of the State.

TOMORROW

Tonight on Florida Wrestling Radio, Chris Carson describes what is wrong with the state of wrestling today. He has dismissed the up and coming Vintage Wrestling as a company that is run by two young individuals that did not know what they were doing. Carson has “Bitch Slapped” the Vintage Commissioner Sean Solo during an interview at Summerbash. Carson also interfered with the main event for the second month in a row . Solo decided to defend his company and drop kicked Carson and destroyed what was a magnificent main event featuring Jesse Neal and Sam Shaw. This leads to the main event once more at Hurricane Havoc of Neal vs. Shaw II.

So many questions that need to be answered because it seems to me that Carson is getting ready to start a promotion again. The fire is back in his eyes and the assuredness is in his voice. He calls Vintage HIS show and now they allow him to book a main event that features the SCW title that is currently held by the Chocolate Rocket Thomas Marr. What does this do to the Central Florida wrestling community? So many questions need to be answered in the upcoming weeks.

Will Carson seek to take over Vintage Wrestling or maybe start his own company?

How will this effect I Believe in Wrestling and what does the future hold for them?

Will WXW takeover because of all the chaos that is happening to these wrestling promotions?

Will Pro Wrestling eklipse restart their promotion in a new venue and with Sean Davis as the commissioner and become a force to reckon with?

My personal belief is the fans will be the winners in all of this because the competition will become fierce. Time will only tell when all of these questions unfold with the answers. Until then, support independent wrestling and may the best promotion win.
